During the pandemic we had the unique opportunity to experience “the floating city” in a way unlike any other—with far fewer crowds, allowing us to see the city in its quieter, more silent state. The colorful facades of the buildings, coupled with the elegant Venetian Gothic architecture and the sounds of seagulls alongside gondoliers' songs left a memorable impression.
